There are two ways to create volumes in Houdini: the Volume method from Houdini, and VDBs from the OpenVDB project. Both methods store parts of a volume with voxels. Today, we make a VDB - both a surface and fog volume - and inspect the voxel data using the HOU Python module in Houdini.
