IridiumIridium

Iridium is the chemical element with atomic number 77 and chemical symbol Ir. Iridium is a dense, silvery-white transition metal. Because it is so resistant to corrosion, iridium is sometimes referred to as a "noble metal." Because such a wide variety of colours are present in iridium compounds, it was named after Iris, the Greek goddess who is the rainbow personified.
